A violent stabbing incident on Woodman Way early Sunday morning has left a 47-year-old man in serious condition, prompting a swift response from emergency services and law enforcement.
At approximately 1:45 AM on March 23, 2025, Newburyport Police officers responded to reports of a stabbing at 14 Woodman Way. Upon arrival, they found a male victim suffering from a stab wound to the chest. The victim was in and out of consciousness, necessitating immediate medical attention.
Newburyport Fire Department and Atlantic EMS were called to the scene, and due to the severity of the injuries, a MedFlight was requested. The victim was initially transported to Anna Jaques Hospital before being airlifted to Tufts Medical Center in Boston, where he remains in serious condition.
During the investigation, authorities encountered a language barrier and requested a Portuguese interpreter to assist in communication with the victim. As a result of the investigation, a female suspect was taken into custody at the scene. Her identity has not yet been disclosed, and the charges against her remain unspecified. She is set to be arraigned in Newburyport District Court on Monday, March 24, 2025.
